Krissie sends you all this with love:
For the next three days the first book in the Maggie Bennett series, ESCAPE OUT OF DARKNESS, is free at Amazon. (To be followed up with #2). It’s the first series I wrote (many many moons ago) and it’s spies and assassins and exotic locations and a literally kick-butt heroine, plus you can’t beat the price.

I think it’s more that I’m adapting to the woods.

I can never remember how to properly use catastrophes, which way shows possession (what, like a demon?), which way indicates a contraction (like a wrinkle in time?) …

Catastrophe use, I’ve got nothin’. (Auto correct?)
Apostrophes are easy.
Posessives: If it belongs to a noun, you use the apostrophe: Frank’s, Julie’s, the cat’s, the chair’s, etc.
Unless it’s a pronoun; they don’t get apostrophes: his, hers, theirs, its.
A contraction is a word that’s lost some letters, so you stick the apostrophe in to show where the letters used to be: “do not” becomes “don’t”, “have not” becomes “haven’t”, “it is” becomes “it’s.”
That may be the only successful thing I’ve done all day. I swear to god, the universe was out to get me: couldn’t get on the net with one of the computers, couldn’t either to print (although both were printing yesterday), couldn’t get the bank to acknowledge that I’d sent them all the paperwork two weeks ago, couldn’t get the damn billing dept at the therapist’s to give me a working number to call them back so I could talk to a living person . . . after which the realtor called to tell me she’d be showing the house I’m renting so tonight I clean up all my stuff.
Let’s talk about apostrophes. Much less frustrating.

She loves us, she really loves us! She really does. See, we do know what this post is really saying, Jenny. (Beyond a killer deal from Krissie.) Thank you.
Now, is that a new banner that I spy with my little eye? Hmmm I bet there is significance there, and with the specific cards shown too. Years ago I would’ve know a little more about the meanings of a few of them … but I betcha there’s Arghers who do!

It’s been up there awhile. And no hidden meaning. It’s all I can do to work with words of one syllable lately.

Sadly, not available in Oz and if it was it would be a Mass Market Paperback for $22. I look on North American Amazon deals with envy.

Urgh, I was wondering why I couldn’t find a download link. I don’t understand why it should be any different if we’re using the same online delivery platform and the same hardware to read it on. Rar rar rar Australia.

Tell Krissie thanks and send back my love but her freebies don’t seem to be available down here in Oz. At least I think it’s not personal….but I haven’t been able to get any of her freebies and Lani’s were no problem at all (thanks Lani). Good luck with getting out of the woods. I’m following your progress avidly because I’m in woods of my own.

They’re not available in the UK, either. I emailed Krissie when the last offer was on, and she said she’d ask the people who do it for her: so I think it’s them who don’t realize there’s a whole connected world out here!

Thank you, Krissie! This is very much appreciated as I now have lots of time to read and no money. I just got laid of from my job.
