The Angry Birds Honeymoon Game
Feb222011
Originally, I crocheted Lani and Alastair an Angry Birds road trip game, but then they decided to get married, so it became
The Angry Birds Honeymoon Game
Players: 2
Game Pieces: 2
The Bomb Bird Hat
The Green Pigs Bra
The Rules:
1. Player 1 puts on Bomb Bird Hat

2. Player 2 puts on Green Pigs Bra

3. Player 1 yells, “Ah-HEE-minah!” and flings self at Green Pigs.
4. Game continues until somebody wins.
They were speechless with admiration so I’m sure they loved it.

Yes… that’s, um, exactly what I was going to say. LOL!

WOW! You are a genius with a wickedly wild or a wildly wicked sense of humour. I am “speechless with admiration” too.

I think I’ve found the gaming version of fan fiction. The only thing it’s missing is the breaking barrier aspect of the game. But I guess that’s what shirts are for, huh.

I’m speechless, but I’m not sure why. Gob-smacked might be more like it. Knowing that you have no time on your hands, I marvel at your ability to craft these things. Ohh, the art that can be accomplished with yarn and a crochet hook.
Personally, I’d like a yellow bird hat. The bomb birds don’t look all that angry to me when I play the game. They’re sort of passive — launch us and we’ll just explode after we hit. Unless you tap the screen while we’re in flight. Then we’ll have premature explosions.
Those yellow birds now, they look driven and embody a full, “We are out for blood, you stinking, green, egg stealing pigs. Hide under your flak helmets or sombreros. Blink at us behind stone or double wood barriers. You are still going down.”
You launch one of those yellow birds and then tap the screen to put them in overdrive and kabam – those little pigs are going to cry more than wee wee wee.
Clearly I play too much Angry Birds.

Uh, it took me less than a week to hit 15 hours and 5000 birds launched/stones toppled. I was told last night just before I played until the iphone shut off (again) that I’d hit 30 hours. I *have* *stuff* *to* *do*. Someone must forcibly take away the Angry Birds, I think. “I’ll just play this screen one more time to see if I can get 3 stars”. “I can stop whenever I want.” Clearly I have no internal off switch for this.
But this is about that had and bra. That’s hilarious. You could probably make a mint on eBay selling those. Because they look very like the animation and who wouldn’t want to play that game?

Lani won’t leave a game page until she has three stars. I keep going until I’ve solved the level and then go back and get three stars on each one. I think that says something deep about us, but I don’t know what it is. Except that we pretty much write books the same way.
On February 22, 2011 at 11:09 pm Mary Stella said...
I keep trying and trying and trying until I either get three stars on each game page, or I get so frustrated that I have to move on until I reach the end of the level. THEN, I go back to the pages that still need three stars.
I suspect that when you return, your first attempt gains better results . You don’t necessarily clear the buildings and get three stars right away, but a few more things tumble after the first bird hits, your just thismuchcloser to a big score. I think the programmers did that on purpose to suck you in to play again and again and again. After multiple plays on the same page, the birds lose a little oomph — particularly the big round red birds.

Wow. Just … wow. How do you score, um, points?
On February 22, 2011 at 3:10 pm Ashley said...
I think babies are the scoring system.
On February 22, 2011 at 3:34 pm Jenny said...
I believe that depends on the players. At least, I’m not going there.

On February 22, 2011 at 3:33 pm Jenny said...
Not in Angry Birds.

Okay, I hope they’ll understand the rules. As I just re-read “Faking It”, I learned that Alastair is now the one with the daisy hand.

Awesome. Do they draw straws to see who wears which piece? I definitely want a photo of Alistair in the pig bra.
On February 22, 2011 at 7:47 pm Jenny said...
I did not ask them to model. Well, I asked Lani and she said something like, “When pigs fly . . .”
Which reminds me. Krissie wants a flying pigs bra now.
On February 22, 2011 at 11:10 pm Mary Stella said...
Please make Krissie her bra before National. I will not be at all surprised to see her wear it at the Marriott at some point. I’ve seen her in a nun’s habit and coconuts (not at the same time), so why not a pig bra?

I read this while sitting in the library on campus, and am regretting it as I’m getting funny looks from people. Apparently sitting with your hand over your mouth to smother maniacal laughter with a red face and watering eyes is weird or something.
Also, can we have the pattern? Please? I think this game may become quite popular.
On February 22, 2011 at 7:49 pm Jenny said...
I don’t think I can do a pattern because of copyright issues. I can tell you it’s mostly circles and there’s a 5″ styrofoam ball inside the bird.
On February 23, 2011 at 10:36 am Sierra said...
I don’t know if the copyright issue would arise if you weren’t doing it for profit, but it’s hard to say. I will play with circles and see what I come up with.

there should probably be a pair of pig panties too. the TNT box is begging to have a specific location.

I bow in the presence of true and glorious greatness. You’ve clearly missed your calling and should be working for Milton Bradley. Is there a specific points system?
This game surpasses the game Pass the Pigs, in which you roll 2 small plastic pigs and receive points according to how they land. Of course the highest points are scored when the pigs land in the “Makin Bacon” position…………I think you can guess which position that would be.
On February 23, 2011 at 3:12 am Julie said...
Renee, we had that game! It was hysterical.

Gee, wonder why that didn’t last… Is Barrel of Monkeys still around??

If you put the pattern on Ravelry, I bet it will jump into “the most active recently published designs” box (located on the Patterns page) at record-breaking speed.
The game is a thing of beauty and I’m utterly gobsmacked. Lucky Lani and Alastair!
On February 22, 2011 at 5:51 pm Jennifer said...
WHERE IS THE PATTERN FOR THIS!? We must all have the option of making our own!
(disclaimer: played this game for the first time oh, last week…)

Also, I now feel I have a better understanding of why your books have my favorite sex scenes. Very enlightening.

I don’t know Angry birds. Clearly I live under a rock. Your bird doesn’t look all that angry, mostly curious. Other than that, I love it. You can post the bra under intimate garments on Ravelry.

I see someone linked to the angry bird cake – this site has a couple of other angry bird craft projects. Very cute! None of them are as good as your honeymoon game, but for the underachievers like me, there’s an angry bird pom pom game.
