Good Blog: Awkward Family Photos

Apr202010

Our latest Good Blog recommendation is Awkward Family Photos, the LOLcats of family history, some with extra creepiness:

I recommend this site for the days when you think, “My family is the craziest in the world.” Unless Dad posed nude for the Christmas photo, no, it’s not.

Then there’s how happy we were all were when Shirley got pregnant and was due on Halloween:

And of course there’s David, who has issues:

But my fave isn’t a picture, it’s this video about the first date of these people:

I love those people. Watch that and tell me they aren’t a perfectly matched couple. No, seriously.

Awkward Family Photos.com. Go there. You’ll feel so much better about the weirdness in your gene pool afterward.

The GREY GUY!!! I’ll find him — he’s my favorite. He’s lumpy and grey and (wait for it!)…on roller skates!!!!!!

That video is fantastic. The look on his face as she’s describing his arm creeping down her front – priceless.”I spent fifty cents.” How many time do think she’s heard that mantra over the years?
Thanks!

I know! That look on his face was my favorite! *LOL* Totally smug! And the money issues…no kidding how often she’s heard that mantra over the years.

His face the whole time was classic! So damn proud of himself, that’s fantastic! Makes me wonder what he did to get the second date though? :)

I go over there at least once a week and always leave with tears in my eyes from something. The VERY BEST thing is the Thanksgiving Letter from Marley. It’s one of the site’s top hits and I defy you not to roll around hysterically over the very idea of this poor woman’s life. She’s tied so tight she doesn’t need shoestrings.

I’ve missed so much this weekend. Three blogs, everything from birthdays, to cake making, to photos. Lot’s of blog posting from your household. Hmmm, are we having writers block? ; )
I just caught an old episode of the Golden Girls, the one where Blanche decided she would become a novelist. She told Dorothy she had writers block and Dorothy gave her “the look” and said, “Blanche, you have to have written to have writers block, otherwise we’d all have it.” The story of my life, I swear I’m going to finish this rough draft today, but that’s what I said yesterday, and the day before that, and….

I can just picture the argument that took place before the family in the matching jammies took that photo. With the dad refusing to wear the jammies and, when pressed too far, simply stripping off and shouting, “Take the **@# photo already.”

Awesome site :) You are my favorite author for reasons that go beyond your fantastic writing (although that is enough in itself).. First cracked.com, now this.. I can feel productivity dwindling as I type. It if wasn’t for watching hoarders the other day for the first time I might just be tempted to let my house go and just sit in front of the computer and laugh :)

I just wanted to take a quick peek at the site. I had other plans for my evening.
Note to self: be careful when Fake Aunt Jenny suggests a website. Never enter it without somebody to rescue you before you die of laughter.

Those grandparents would have been PERFECT as one of the older couples in When Harry Met Sally- you know, the parts where the couples are all talking about how they started dating? It would have been priceless.

This is off the subject but does go back to the I WANT ONE day. Did you watch the news this morning? A video is being shown of a man purchasing an ipad, walking out of the store and getting it ripped out of his hands. He lost his pinkie finger-it was ripped off his hand!!! Jenny, you don’t want one that badly!!

)-: I don’t like the new poll. Not enough options. I think a FAQ page is a great idea, because I just love those things. Especially stumbling onto one for a website/group I’ve belonged to for quite some time, and discovering something new!

We don’t *need* one, but I think it’s a lovely idea. And I only blame Jenny for getting down on herself (-:.

If you look at the children of corn family photo with the kid and the baseball bat, look at the bottom right corner and there is a hand holding a football. Whose hand is that?? Can’t be the Dad because he’s holding onto the Mom for dear life. Can’t be the soccer kid, because it’s a right hand holding the football. Maybe the daughter has big old man hands?? Maybe I need to stop procrastinating and get back to work :)
