OK, GO Have A Good Day

Mar42010

Courtesy of Rox, who, as always, rocks, is this video from the treadmill-dancing OK Go guys. It’s just . . . well, you have to see it:

Thank you, Rox, who got it from her husband, Michael, who also rocks.

And if you haven’t seen the amazing treadmill video, it’s here. I think they smash the television because they’d like to move past that one, but really, it’s one of the best music videos of all time, although I will say the new one is even better.

Have a good day, and if not, this too shall pass. Because this video says so, that’s why.

I just saw this too. So good! I do feel bad for them that they now seem to have to have the “gimmicky” videos. It’s probably hard to come up with cool stuff like this.

I love it! And holy crap that was one long uninterrupted take! I love these guys, They’re so clever and innovative. I pity the poor PAs who had to reset that puppy every time they ran through it. I was totally focused on following the bouncing (or not bouncing) balls and what was going to happen next.

The treadmill one is still my favorite though. It’s easier for my poor Polish brain to follow.

Those guys looked exhausted, I wonder how many takes they did. Did you notice the little State Farm logo on the toy truck? Product placement at it’s best. Cool vid.

Hahahaha! I almost sent this to Lani/Lucy the other day when she was blogging about letting things go. You know, because of the title. Definitely a win.

Wow! Talk about time consuming. And from the perspective of a former camera person, the smooth camera shot while following the action, especially around all the paraphernalia, is absolutely amazing. Rube Goldberg would have been proud. Thanks for sharing, and thank your friends for sharing. Awesome!

Is “Wild Night” the name of the prequel to “Wild Ride”? I did a double take and got confused.

Yep. “Wild Night” is the story and Wild Ride is the book.

I saw them on Craig Ferguson the other night and was sorely disappointed that there wasn’t anything unique or interesting going on other than all the singing. Well- there was a guy in a dress, but strangely enough, I consider that sorta mainstream these days.

This video has restored my faith in OK!Go.

Jane at Dear Author has just posted something about this. Apparently

EMI, the record label of OK Go, disabled the embed ability for OK Go’s famous treadmill music video, much to the dismay of OK Go. For OK Go’s next video, they partnered with State Farm to produce it, allowing for embedding. Yes, they had to get away from their record label to allow for embedding.

What an idiotic move on EMI’s part. That is Free Advertizing.

Delightful – and truly a viral video: It showed up today on Argh, on another blog aimed at a different audience, and even in my inbox via a chat group.

Here’s an article and a bunch of videos about the making of:

Me too! Wasn’t that sue a neat pause? It was even better the second time. And I realized, the second time, that the momentum and size of all the objects kept increasing. How cool and what a neat point.

You know what I really love, too, about this blog? You post a rec, and someone else posts a link with more information, and someone else posts an “if you like this, you’ll like that” video, and I wind up with lots of new things to think about (-:.

Thanks to LV for posting the Dear Author link. I had a ‘good grief’ moment reading about the study that says:

Harlequin titles reveal something about women’s desires. To wit: we like men that are financially secure and committed, fit and sexy. This is a surprise?

Somebody did a study on this? And what I want to know is, who funded it? And why? Must have been a guy doing a lot of wishful thinking. He should have just asked the men who hang around Argh.

Huh? One for sure out of four, close on another, so not so good there. So I checked out the site and it gets worse. I should have been a doctor or a cowboy. Nobody told me! At least I do a decent John Wayne impression, but I think I’m better as Groucho Marx, Stan Laurel or Cary Grant. I can’t believe Cary Grant impersonator didn’t make the list. Bummer. I’m off to break the bad news to my co-workers. They should know this. It’s not too late for some of them.

Cowboys??? I’ve known a lot of cowboys and none of them were financially secure. (Owners of big ranches are rarely cowboys – they guys who work for them are.)

Depends on what you mean by financially secure. I’m married to a cowboy and we aren’t rich but we’re financially secure. And he’s sexy as all get out. I wouldn’t trade him for anything.
