The idea of 50,000 houses -- especially in a country that didn't have such great infrastructure to begin with -- is mind-boggling. But I hope they meet and exceed that goal -- it'll be a great boost to Haiti. The earthquake was a terrible thing, but wouldn't it be something wonderful if Haiti rose like a phoenix from these ashes, and turned into a lovely vacation spot? Hope springs eternal . . . . You know where your money goes and you can see results. OT-I saw on the internet that FEMA has 100,000 trailers they built for Katrina, there was a picture. These are the trailers that are contaminated with formaldehyde. Haiti (rightly so) has declined to accept them. What a tragic waste. Habitat is an amazing organization.
