I just had to tell you that you succeeded in writing an emotional true book. I read your introduction, something I rarely do, and I am glad I did. You have to understand that I am a person who has isolated herself and thought relationships were more work than they were worth. Even knowing that this is an idealized version of the world, there were moments of such gems that I began to see the light. I am the currently in the midst of making changes in my life and reaching out more, and your book hit me in the gut and really showcased why I am reaching out. So I just want to say thank you and keep going to that emotional, messy, vulnerable place. It's worth it. I have read the Cinderella Deal and I am reading it again. And I have read it (twice over) and loved it. And the painting-in-a-fever scene made me think of The Serpent Garden by Judith Merkle Riley, which is completely different in almost every way (widowed miniature-painting heroine making her way in the world, angels, devils, shipwrecks, low taverns, false relics, Henry VIII and his sister Mary, the French court, Archbishop Wolsey, and the Priory of Sion) but also wonderful, and I am reading that again too, so thank you at least twice!
