Attitude Adjustment
Sep272009
It’s been a horrrrrrrrrrrrrr-ible month. That’s one of the new inside jokes here at the Convent of Unimmaculate Dachshund. We were playing cards and Lani took some of mine and I told the girls, “Your mother is a horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr–” and Lani thought, Oh, we’re going there are we? and then I finished “–ible person,” and she laughed till she choked while I said, “What? What did I say?” Not that I wouldn’t go there. Just not with children around. But Mercury has been in retrograde all month, due to finally get its butt in gear Wednesday, and we’ve dealt with one disaster after another including me being incredibly short-tempered as I wrestle this damn book to the ground. It was supposed to be done by now, she whined. So I needed an attitude adjustment badly. It helped that we watched Ghostbusters and Meatballs last night. It would have helped even more if Lyle hadn’t drunk part of my screwdriver while I was up getting something. But I was still grumping around today, swearing at my computer. Then I found this (thanks once again to The Dish):
Attitude adjusted.

OMG, I love that video. Good for attitude adjustment, which we both desperately need. That, and screwdrivers that are unsullied by dachshund tongue.

I love, love, love this! It gives ya a nice little energy boost
I’ve also been enjoying “Glee” on Fox. That seems to have helped me a lot during this retrograde period.

I love this video, it’s been a while since I looked it up and remembered how much I love me some giant squids.

I love the Where the Hell is Matt video for a similar attitude adjustment. (Though I heard it might be a hoax, but I don’t care, durnit. I’m keeping it!)

Matt Harding made a tongue-in-cheek presentation “confessing” his videos were hoaxes, created using an animatronic army and such techniques as spending $17 million to hollow out a Boeing 727, sink it in an Olympic-size pool and mimic weightless dancing. Within 48 hours the tongue-in-cheek part got lost, and people started reporting his videos really were hoaxes–but they ain’t. Here’s a lengthy interview where he tells the whole story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=FR&hl=fr&v=CVAg6YTgTn4

Oh, thanks! That makes me feel so much better. I still loved them, but I wasn’t sure I should. Now it’s OK again!

Where the Hell is Matt? was brilliant, too! And maybe something I can use in class. . . .

I love this! I’ll be singing, “Boom-dee-ah-dah!” for the rest of the day, now.

Love this! Gosh, I sure hope it’s all Mercury’s fault . . . but the inner Virgo in me says, “Then how come Andrew Sullivan seems to be having a good day?” LOL! Oh well, all we can do is make the best of it. (-: Boomdeyahdah.

I’m smiling from ear to ear now, and that doesn’t happen often on a Monday morning. Thanks for that.
I’m almost afraid to say I’ve had a really good month. But, I’ve been reading BET ME for the first time (finished last night, also put a giant smile on my face) so that made the difference. You are my muse, just so you know.
And I’m thinking maybe the antics of a drunk dachshund could provide a few giggles. Might be worth spiking that water dish.

Thank you for sharing that. Really really needed that today. Also, wishing an easy fast to any Cherries observing Yom Kippur.

Since I love arachnids and giant squids and my husband loves to tease me, whenever that commercial comes on he sings “I love arachniiiiiiiiiids that make a giant squish!”

That is a marvelous vid. I’ve got a link to it on my desktop and hit it whenever everything seems to be getting mighty blech-y.
Here’s hoping next month is awesome.

When I posted this video on my facebook a friend posted this in response. I love it especially since I’m so enamored with “Glee”

Then I came across this on Shreve Stockton’s Daily Coyote Blog and twitter. I don’t know what it has to do with shampoo but it made me cry!

BTW…The Daily Coyote is a brilliant blog turned book by Shreve Stockton. If you need an attitude adjustment it’s a great place to go. She took in an orphaned coyote and now has a eclectic pack of her own. Worth checking out. The link below is a pic of her cat Eli, puppy Chloe and coyote Charlie taking a nap together.

Thought I’d share me attitude adjustments
Hope you all enjoy!

Great links! As a teenager, Toto’s Africa was one of my favorite songs, and I love what that acapella group does with it. (-: As for the shampoo one, I was bawling, too (hormones partly to blame?). It’s amazing what story they can pack into four short minutes. I’m glad I got to see those!
