I showed this to a buddy. His response was to hit himself in the head not because of the obvious hazard, but because he felt stupid for not thinking of it first… “Duh, I would use a rubber dingy, sandals are too flimsy.”
Note to self: do not trust buddy in in life or death situation…

(-: Yep, SD, we’ve used the pliers-for-faucet lever solution before. And for a couple of years, we used a pink faucet lever meant for a bathroom vanity on our kitchen sink because the hardware store was out of kitchen faucet levers.
There really is a blog for everything!

Didn’t one of the early seasons of CSI (Las Vegas) have the poor man’s airconditioner – guy buys a block of ice, puts it in front of a fan. Turns fan on. Fan cools room, he relaxes in easy chair …. BUT… ice melts slowly onto floor, flows toward man’s foot and electric current from fan cable (cant remember) flows through water and ZAP!

i mentioned this photo last week, when we found that the amish in the next cabin had strung extension cords from the cabin to the metal dock (about 500 feet) to charge the banks of batteries in their boat for the fishfinder, the trolling motor and the other motor. yes, the amish.
