Awesome movie. Never saw the originals, grew up with the Next Generation. Watched some specials so I got some of the “Trekkie” jokes.

Went to see it again.

And then again.

I loved it, too! Entertaining from start to finish. Never seen a Star Trek episode/movie in my life either. I am also in love with Chris Pine now, the actor who played Capt. Kirk. Can’t wait for the next one!

I won’t say what I really thought until it’s been out for awhile longer since it involves spoilers but I LOVED THIS MOVIE!

I thought a big part of how this one hit it out of the park was that they made it SO accessible to non-Star Trek fans. The movie franchise had been suffering lately because the movies came with so much baggage. Nobody who wasn’t already a fan was going to look at say, Star Trek Nemesis, and say, “Oh, I wanna see that!” With this one you can come into it without any previous Star Trek experience and (I think) thoroughly enjoy yourself.

Also, they made a hella good movie. I’ve already seen in twice, with plans to see it again with my sis this weekend.

I had a few quibbles, but mostly thought it was great. I always have a few quibbles with movies from other media. It’s just moi. By the by, take a good look at the boy who plays Spock at school. He looks like my grandson, Tyler…with pointy ears!! That was a big shock to me.

I’m hoping to see this one this weekend with my son. But with my son you never know. If not, I’ll catch a matinee next week, it’s certainly getting positive reviews from everyone I know, young and old alike.

It was well-done, no doubt. Still, to quote my kids’ reaction to the spoiler romance: “THAT’S JUST SO WRONG!” I’m sorry, I didn’t think that Spock was anywhere near Vulcan enough. The coolness and the resulting condescension was just not amped up nearly high enough for my taste. Still, a very good movie, and I’m very glad for the franchise, it needs to continue into the next generation.

You speak truth! Exciting, funny, shiny movie! And the spoilery romance? Is some of the BEST romance I’ve seen one in a summer blockbuster in a loooooooooooooooooong time. GAH! They built a whole, believable relationship in, like, a four (?) short moments between shit blowing up. Coolness.
