BTW, I love to re-read HOT TOY at Christmas--the toy store in the first chapter reminds me of the one in Hickory, NC, I used to go to..it was HIDDEN in the basement of a tire store called Clark Tires! And only the locals knew it was there. You'd go in, see tires all around you, smell all that rubber, and then you'd see these stairs with a discreet little sign mentioning Santa's toy store...you'd go down the stairs and there it was, a real toy store. You could find brand new red wagons mingling with dusty old Barbies and all kinds of stuff. It was great, the best toy store I've ever been to.
