More than you ever wanted to hear from Jenny Crusie.

Doogie vs. Mal ON THE COMPUTER

Joss will be bringing you Doogie vs. Mal in a series of computer shorts or “webisodes” (horrible word). Whedon describes the series as “It’s the story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he’s too shy to talk to,” as reported on Ain’t It Cool News. Here’s the teaser:

Teaser from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog on Vimeo.

I love the net. And Joss. And Doogie and Mal.

I’d read about this earlier but I had forgotten all about it. It’s going to be wonderful. Joss is wonderful. I miss Buffy. And Angel. And Firefly. Thanks Jenny!

    Rats. That didn’t work.

I just watched it three times and saw stuff I missed each time. I heart Joss.

Mal :sigh: Should be fun. Thanks for posting.
Where’s the chat? Did I miss all the info?

Is that Nathan Fillion landing a punch? He was so deliciously creepy in Buffy. Great teaser. Now I want to see more.

  8. Bonnie C on June 26th, 2008 at 8:44 am

    OH. MY. GOD.

Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris together. My teenaged and adult worlds collide in a happy mess.

Joss Whedon is my master now.

PS - Mary Stella - if you only now Nathan from Buffy, you must go out and get Firely & Serenity. Trust me. You will not be sorry.

    Thank you Jenny!

    Mmmmm, Jossness.

  10. Maura on June 26th, 2008 at 9:55 am

Joy, joy, happy, happy. All my favorites in one shiny place.

Okay, I’ve been having the week from Hades and that MADE MY DAY. Watched it twice and the kids are relieved to see that Mommy’s smiling again rather than gritting her teeth and swearing under her breath…

I’ve been a Nathan fan since he was on One Life to Live. Love Firefly and Serenity. I also enjoy watching him on Desperate Housewives.

    OMG!!! YAAAAY!!

  14. Brianna on June 26th, 2008 at 2:02 pm

I can’t wait! I saw this yesterday and squee’d very loudly, much to the dismay of the sensitive-eared family in my house. who cares? I’m anticipating greatness in this and in DollHouse.

    That was fun and intoxicating.

  17. Jenni on June 26th, 2008 at 10:14 pm

I thought that was totally fantastic! And I personally love the word “webisodes”. It’s so … furtoristic, yet so … now.

  18. Jenny on June 26th, 2008 at 10:54 pm

Oh, HELL. I missed it. I had to go out and get a faucet because the one that was supposed to be here they told me today was back ordered four to six weeks and the plumber is coming tomorrow . . .

This is why I will never promise to do anything ever again. Damn. I am SO SORRY, Tal. I’ve got the plumber and the electrician coming tomorrow and they all need different things and I just forgot.

I’m scum. I hate it when I do this. SO sorry, really.

Well, life just gets in the way sometimes and you’re a busy lady. I forget everything if I don’t make a list, but even then I have to list it, mark it on my calendar, circle it, put it in my appt. book in the wallet, and also a note on the fridge. Yikes!

I went to the evileditor site, which is a new one for me, and read through everyone’s comments. Tal, you did a great job.

  20. talpianna on June 27th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Jenny, I warned them from the get-go that you had remodeling issues and to expect you only when they saw you. You can still look at the discussion, and even post to it.

I shall copy your apology above to the blog. I don’t think any of the authors who have promised to show up have yet done so, so you are in good company!

Thanks, Robena. I wish I could have invited you all, but it would have been a Chinese fire drill with more than a few posters, considering the format. That IS a great site for anyone interested in writing.

Jenny, here’s a question: If you were writing the book today, is there anything you’d do differently? (except maybe change Elvis’s gender, as 99.5% of tortoiseshell cats are female?)

  21. Ellie on June 28th, 2008 at 9:51 pm

Jenny is looking out for the underrespresented .5%. My unsolicited two cents are you can’t improve on perfection.

  22. Ellie on June 28th, 2008 at 9:52 pm

*underrepresented….but you can improve on spelling. ;)

  23. Caryn on June 29th, 2008 at 5:51 pm

That *does* look good. Thanks for the heads-up.

  24. Aileen on June 29th, 2008 at 6:36 pm

See, this is what I like about you. And I think this is why I like your books–we seem to have similar tastes in things. I can’t wait.

See the above interview with Joss about Dr.Horrible. Matt Roush actually got to preview it.

I went to Hawaii (Big Island) last week and was tricked by well-meaning friends into hiking into a volcano and out again. The guide told us that Hawaiian volcanoes were created by “hot spots” under the ocean.

I said “Do you mean like the Hellmouth under Buffy’s High School?” No one understood and if you try to explain, it quickly deteriorates into babbling.

There are not enough Joss fans in remote locations.

Jenny… here’s hoping that the contractors are out of your hair and your house. The not seeing pictures is just killing us. (I believe I can speak for some others)

And mostly, I am hoping that you are away from Argh Ink because you are visiting the Lovely and Beautiful Miss Callie. Remember, we can never see enough pictures of small children or dogs.

This has absolutely nothing to do with this post or the comments right here, but… I was looking at the picture of your backyard from the random sunday post and am wondering, are those little bird houses as your fence post finials? I couldn’t get a good size perspective to tell if they were purely decorative or also useful. Either way, great idea!

Also - incredibly gorgeous baby! A perfect round little head and what a perfect baby complexion! It really is just smile worthy.

    Knock, knock, knock.
    Creak!

“Um … hello … the key was in the door. Is anyone home? Hellllooooo. HELLO!”

    Ouch! Thud!

  32. JulieB on July 9th, 2008 at 9:56 pm

Nope Robena, my guess is Jenny has left the building and is kissing baby toes as we speak. I doubt she’ll return…

  33. McB on July 10th, 2008 at 1:57 pm

Does she not remember what happens when she leaves the blog unattended? Bob disappeared for a few days and we had him being kidnapped by Grisham and King. A lawyer and a horror writer … I’m not sure which one is scarier.

  34. MelinAZ on July 10th, 2008 at 7:35 pm

I thought Bob was kidnapped by Aniston????
I miss Jenny *slinks off to whine in corner*

  35. Sheri on July 12th, 2008 at 12:34 pm

I have to admit that I have never been a Buffy fan (ducking as sharp pointy objects are hurled at her head) but this looks like a fun thing to watch so I am putting the RSS feed up on my page and will be interested to see what happens. Thanks, Jenny.
