More than you ever wanted to hear from Jenny Crusie.

On the Road: Chicago

I’m a slug. I was supposed to post this last night but I collapsed into bed. Two great interviews yesterday with Barbara from PW and an audio interview with Steve Bertrand for the B&N site, and then on to one of my fave bookstores in the world, Anderson’s in Naperville (see, I can spell it) where we met incredibly wonderful people like Cathie Linz who has a gorgeous new book coming out in October and our own Celia who gave us the “Make the Cannoli” slogan. Then we went back to the hotel and I was supposed to blog but passed out on the bed instead because I needed the sleep desperately and had to get up at 5:30 to meet Bob in the lobby at 6 and of course he e-mailed me at 5:40 and said he was ready to go down–these military types who get up before dawn can be trying to travel with–so we hit O’Hare and flew to Lexington and now I’m showered and ready to put on make-up so I can go do TV. Bob, of course, looks terrific without the whole hair and make-up thing. And then the Bob-and-Jenny-Show does Jo-Beth in Lexington.

Sleep. I’m getting some on Friday.

I bet Friday seems so far away. Remind yourself - no more teaching, traveling is almost over. Soon you’ll be able to Sleep Sleep Sleep, re-bond with your critters, and then write and WRITE some more.

Good times ahead - LTD! (Ignore Gloom Boy.)

I’m glad your trip was good and glad you got the rest. I wanted to come out and meet you — but crossing two rivers this week is interesting to say the least. We’ve had our first snow day on Friday, so yesterday was a major day for the kids homework- and teacher-letter-wise. So, I will look forward to CherryCon even more.

You and Bob were lots of fun to listen to last night and I’m glad the weather yesterday wasn’t like the weather TODAY (ick). Everyone there was giddy with excitement and seemed to have a lovely time. Best of luck getting rest!

Jenny, you’re not a slug. Not even close. Take care of yourself.

I think you should pull a SEP on Bob and turn up with pancake make-up and mascara and start making him over. I’d pay to see that. Heh.

Friday will be here soon, then you can finally stop spinning and get your life back in order.

Well he may look better at 5.30 am but you have the advantage of always being right.
    You win.

Hey, Cruisie, I heard from Cathie Linz and Margaret Watson that you and Bob had a great crowd at Anderson’s when you were here in Naperville!

Wish I’d been able to make it, but I’ve been having multitudinous worker lads crawling up and down the ladder in front of my office window and they weren’t through for the day. The sight of so many nekkid male bellies bouncing up and down as they climbed the ladder had me nigh onto fainting. And NOT in a good way, let me clarify.

BTW, I loved the before and after pix of your office–just a richness of color and energy there. Sometimes a person needs everything piled around, and sometimes not. Works both ways. So enjoy your space, whichever way it goes.

Well, shoot. Punch drunk and too late at night. The flying fingers mistyped. I know how to spell your name. Really. I do. The extra -i- sneaked in like a gremlin in the night, that’s all I can say. Yikes.

Just smack me upside the haid, okay? Apologies–and I am following with great interest The Twelve Days of Inner Peachiness and Office Organization.

Don’t worry, babe. Everybody misspells it, and if they don’t their spell checkers do. They misspelled it on my first Rita, too.
