Off the Road
Aug252007
I’ve been home two days. I’ve eaten twice, run errands for two hours, put the non-slip surface on the rest of my front steps, and slept forty-two hours. It’s now past nine, I have to get up at the crack of dawn to catch a plane, and I’m still not packed.
I think I’ll take a nap.

What a schedule! I’d want to nap too. It’s just too much. Hang in there Jenny. All of our energizing thoughts are with you.
Wish I could get to one of your booksignings. I did alert my friend in Lexington. And I’m still working out details to make Cherry Con.
One day at a time and all that…
Maybe there’s some chocolate in your cupboard.

Awww, that’s dreadful. Pump yourself up with Gatorade. Make sure you’re well-hydrated, think Superbowl. And chocolate, yeah Gatorade and chocolate, that should do it.
Hope the dysfunctional tour is wildly successful.
AATHM was amazing, I’m telling everyone and I’m buying more copies.

Oh Jenny don’t make yourself sick. That was good advice to keep yourself well hydrated.
I am looking forward to seeing you in Dayton. I am buying my AATHM then as well as Lost Girls if they have it. Hope they have enough copies for all the CBs.

Sounds like you’re taking the sane approached to the lull between commitments. Sleep some for me, if you get the chance. Take care of yourself, and me three on the keeping well hydrated.

aww, sweetie, it’s only 5 days…can you sorta sleep walk thru them? let bob drive and then direct you where you sit, place arm and hand in position so your chin rests there, maybe a pair of sunglasses too……
how about calling in sick….by the way, loved agnes and even started on the question lists…got to last one before it occurred to me it was just for me, you didn’t want feedback to grade, could only imagine all the papers you would be getting, i was on the 6th page on word. i hadn’t had homework after reading a book in years! well, i thought it was funny. guess you had to be there…..
take care please

Adding my “take care of yourself” to all the others.
We need more books. Okay – that was selfish. Just get enough rest and do something relaxing for you – a massage?

And the worst thing is you are brought face-to-face with the knowledge that you are no longer in your 20′s, 30′s or even 40′s, damn it.

Do what you need to in order to survive a week of LTD with Bob on the Dysfunctional Tour. Nap when you can and know how much we all appreciate your interaction with us – both virtual and in real life.

Oh, Jenny. It all seemed like a good idea at the time, right?
But you’ve been to Australia. And New Zealand. And the strange land of La-La. Five days. You can survive five days.
Just don’t kill Bob. ‘Cuz I just finished “Agnes,” and it is really, truly, wonderful. It’s crackling, crunchy, and crazy good. So, even though you might feel doomed after all of the traveling, there are nothing but good times ahead.
Now, go have a nap. And maybe some wine and chocolate.

I know you have had a rough month, and jet-lag all over the place, but if you are still feeling bad tomorrow, please consider a check-up. Really. Sleeping that much may be reasonable (I’ve done the jet-lag thing from Japan to the mid-West many times, and you NEED the sleep esp. if you can’t sleep on planes).
I’m a little worried about depression, to tell you the truth, and I want you to take care of yourself. You’ve helped me out of minor depressions through your books.
(-: OK, this is really overstepping the bounds of Normal Fandom to Crazy Fandom. Ignore if not applicable! I won’t bring it up again.

Nope, I’m good.
But I need a Snickers and there’s no mini-bar in this room. It’s tragic, the things I have to put up with.
Now to see which is stronger, my greed or my sloth (I’m pretty sure there’s a Snickers in the lobby.)

OK, glad to hear it. Stepping back into the normal realms of fandom now (-;.
You know what, you could really use a minion, you know? Someone to run out for Snickers in the middle of an evening. I’ll send in my application sometime next week. (-:
(Whoops! Damn! Sorry, I slipped on that last step to Normality again.)
