I just finished Agnes and loved it. You and Bob really did a great job. Great characters, great plot...it just zipped along. I loved the twist with Shane's professional competition. I could go on and on, but then I'd start giving spoilers, and I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Such a fun read though. Kudos

I was going to spend all day today reading it, now I won't have time again until next weekend (I dont want to read it in peices), IF the bloody borders has GOTTEN IT IN BY THEN!

Agnes and the Hitman:
Just got my copy at the B&N in Cranberry, PA (near Pittsburgh). There is now only one left on that B&N shelf.
Can you say "second printing" - one can hope.

Just finished AATHM.
WoW!

Posted a semi-review. Can't seem to say enough good things about it. Not surprising.

You two have totally outdone yourselves this time.

Thank you so much. You have no idea what a breath of fine Southern air you breathed into my life, at just the moment when I needed it most.

I like the "Julia" school of travel, described in one of Sara Caudwell's terrific books: instead of wearing yourself out trying to get to a lot of pre-determined "sights", get where you're going, then find cool things that are already there. So one spends most of one's time enjoying, NOT in transit.

I had a tremendous time reading AatHM last night - my day was otherwise sort of blah and frustrating (my refrigerator is non-functional and I forgot to bring some paperwork into work and I found out about a farmer's market in my area just in time to miss it). I'm going back through and re-reading, but I loved the characters and the twists and turns. Lots of charm and joy!

I tried to buy Lost Girls, too, but apparently the release date isn't until 8/28 - the day after the Bob and Jenny show come to IL. I s'pose books can be signed for later purchase....

I finished Agnes and the Hitman this weekend and thought I'd go right into reading Lost Girls but found I couldn't do it. AATHM is one of those books that stays with you because of the wonderful character images, the action, the fast pace. It's like watching a movie and saying you'll have to see it again when it comes out in DVD because you're sure you missed something, and you play the damn scenes over and over in your head during the day and then dream about them at night.

Now that I've had a breather I'm ready for LG but am sure it too will be a fast pace. I've read others comments on it and know it will be another "can't put it down" read. I'll have to prepare myself for that.

Wish I'd known you were staying over in L.A. for a few days. I would have come up and shown you some of the better parts of the city. If you don't know the place it does seem large and flat and concrete, it's no NYC with that wonderful central hub. But there are tons of unique little sections, good shopping, and wonderful restaurants. Hope the rest of your stay is good and that you shake off the jetlag. Remember to re-hydrate yourself, you'll feel so much better when you flush out all the toxins. *grin*

As I indicated on his royal doomness' blog, Agnes was GREAT! Something really special about the book. When done, I knew I'd read something fine.

I really don't know how you and Bob are going to top it. One of the best damn books I've read this year. Thank You for sharing your wonderful gift with the pen.

Best, Deb.

I always say I want to travel, but then I remember what traveling is like. There is something to be said for just staying at home. Then again, you've got more stories, great pictures, wonderful memories. Yeah, traveling is okay, just not when you're crashing from it.

I bought my copy of Agnes (plus a few more). Filled out my coupon and sent it in. I also read the book yesterday. I loved it. No spoilers, but what a fantastic ride. Fun, whitty, explosive... just flipping fab! What a great book.

I also bought a few more copies of LOST GIRLS, which I totally loved and am sending it out as gifts to people. I love to give great books as gifts. Life doesn't get any better than that.

Thanks for giving me a wonderful read. Jenny, you are the best!

Oh, well--it's already here, bought yesterday (the 21st), and as soon as my wife wakes up I'll snag it from the bedside table. (Hmmm... who do you think stayed up all hours reading it first?)

I'm in Pittsburgh for my job (I travel but I drive across PA) and there's a B&N right down RT. 19 - a mile from the motel - so I will be there tonight after working on "my" book, a Nursing Polciy and Procedure book for our company. Agnes will be mine tonight.

And I agree about sleeping off jet lag - going from west to east is the hardest for me - it takes me days to recup.

Rest and write. If I can't "hear" you again - well, at least I can "read" you.
