I'm so glad I'm driving off the rock this weekend and will be able to hit real bookstores. Just added Lost Girls to the list since I loved Bodyguard of Lies. The list of books to buy is already huge, but there's always room for another one . . . or two . . . or....

Which makes a couple of books I'll have to get, because I loved Russ Parson's last book, too (and the recipes in the excerpt looked great).

So, TUMF, AATHM, Lost Girls, and How to Pick a Peach. Sheesh, no wonder there's no room at my house.

YES!
That's Cousin Russ. You know he was telling us about the artichoke summer before last when we had the difficult foods conversation and Bob wondered why anybody had ever looked at a squid and thought, "Now that's good eating." Russ must have been working on this chapter then.
He's really wonderful.

On an unrelated note, I read a post a while back about JC's famous foodie cousin. Is he Russ Parsons?

I heard this story on NPR's Fresh Air yesterday.

Because I did love BOL I will be buying Lost Girls and at the first opportunity, have Bob sign it with "In the darkness there is death."

What do you think are the chances I can then have him write, "Smooches, Bob."

I can't believe he never showed it to you Jenny - when I read the first line I was dead sure that was your paw at work. I got a signed copy thingy for my birthday and it was one of my favorite presents, made me late for work and kept me up late, just as a good book should. And I'm a picky bitch when it comes to thrillers, so I ain't just taking one for Team Bobster.

If he stops writing prologues, does that mean we'll start getting prequels instead?
Hey, I'm behind whatever gets me more books!

Okay, just to clarify, I read Bodyguard of Lies before I agreed to collaborate. I meant that Lost Girls probably had a prologue.

And glad you're having a good day on the blogs after a bad day in reality, Roben. Hope tomorrow is better.

Yep. I agree. I loved BOL and look forward to Lost Girls. I'll bet you twenty Aussie bucks he does not have a prologue. Winner pays up at National in Aust. *grin*
Seriously, the boy has to have learned something from this collaboration. Are you lurking, Bob? Do not write prologues or Jenny will deck you with a frying pan full of hot raspberries.
Thanks for letting me play on your blogs today, I was feeling a bit down in the dumps and enjoyed the opportunity to entertain myself in your space. I think of your blogs as my little sanctuary away from politics and other crap. Going back to try my hand at a few more taglines.

Jenny - nope, no prologue in Bodyguard of lies. Starts with a short chapter one with an old man alone in the darkness. I think Bob's got a thing for "in the darkness". Anyway, it's one of my favorite books, so I eagerly await Lost Girls. Of course I egarly await Agnes and the Hitman too. Oh, and of course there is this contest thing going on with your other book. Yeah, I want that one too.

I am however annoyed they missspelled his name. that is just wrong.
