So, those characters are just sitting out there laughing at you and challenging you to make them flesh and blood. The nerve!

Don't worry, you get the last laugh . . . you get to make them do what YOU want, when you want, and for as long as you want.

That will teach them.

Snapperoo on the 'not good words' feeling, Jennifer. I'm a writer, too, and I've got the story in my head but the ****** characters just refuse to start living/talking to me. OK, so they're talking but it's all formal and stiff and awkward because they're not talking independently of me, not giving me that, 'Now where did that come from?' feeling. Sometimes I wonder why I write for a living. OK, I know why. It's for that wonderful buzz when you type 'The End' and your editor is happy, and your readers are happy, but those awful words 'Chapter 1' when you feel like you're pushing a huge great boulder up a hill, a boulder that's going to roll back and squish you... Nope, don't like it then.

Jenny,
There's no doubt in my mind that your "not good words" will evolve into something fabulous.
And just think, you could sell the collage on ebay for big bucks after it's all said and done. :)
Best,
Lesh
